About Us

We are not a Worldschool Hub; We are a full time Worldschooling Community…

We are not a ‘school’ and there is no curriculum here.

We are not teachers and there are none on site. (Well, not always true, as many parents who visit have all sorts of teaching experiences!).

This is a place where families stay to connect and take a break from travelling, or to escape from a fast-paced life. We provide accommodation, you become part of the community.

This is a nurturing environment that supports growth in confidence. Everyone that stays here has their own method of raising & teaching their children, and we respect that.

This is a place for connecting with your children and other families. We provide communal spaces for both work and play. These areas are free to use for parents and children.

There are opportunities in the local community that we can take part in, or recommend to you. We have a WhatsApp group for all families here to communicate, ask questions, and share recommendations of places to visit.

Oria is a friendly village, which provides opportunities to practice your Spanish. Check out the weekly market, the tapas bars, or a chat with a local family at one of the children’s parks.

We join together on Sunday afternoon for a communal meal, where everyone brings one dish of food to share. This gives an option for socialising and meeting new families that have arrived during the week.

We have created a home away from home atmosphere. All spaces and resources are to be respected and kept tidy, as everything here is for present and future families.

Who are we?

We are a large blended family from the south of England, with 6 children ranging from 8 to 28 years old. We made the decision to move to rural Spain in 2015, after some challenging times with our children in a large and unsupportive school system. We had only been together for a few months when we decided to look at the property we found online and now call home in the mountain village of Oria.

Yes, we did only look at one house…

Yes, it was the one we bought…

The farmhouse had so much potential, offering a large family home with rental accommodation attached. We started out hosting yoga retreats and holidays, but realised that we wanted to create a more family friendly environment. This was because we saw the improvements in our children very early on after arriving in Spain. They have all learnt the language fluently, which is important to us as this is our home and we see our long term future here. We are also learning the language though not as quickly as the children, but we’re getting there.

We started hosting families in 2018 and haven’t looked back. The family supports the business and the business supports the family. We value time as a family, enjoying outdoor living and adventuring. We love sharing what we have found here in Andalucia. We welcome others for how ever long suits their journey. Come join in and become part of the tribe that is growing here.

The perfect place for worldschooling families to call home during their travels.

We are located in a peaceful & picturesque setting, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Both of our farmhouses are located in Oria, within 5 minutes drive from each other.

We welcome you and your families to join us and help create a community that will grow and offer friendship, stability & adventure.

Nestled amongst the rolling hills and sweeping valleys of this sun-drenched region of Andalucia, you'll find a world of adventure and relaxation waiting for you and your loved ones.

From hiking through fragrant pine forests and swimming in sparkling lakes, to BBQs in the garden with friends, there's something for every member of the family to enjoy.

As a worldschooling family, we understand the importance of having reliable internet access to support your children's education or your own remote work. That's why we have fast and stable connections at both sites, ensuring that your family has the connectivity you need to continue your learning journey.

We have toys and art materials on site.

We venture out for walks into the pine forest.
We often eat together and share food from all cultures.

We have 12 acres of land, which we would love to cultivate in a variety of ways. We are open to projects and Workaway families!

Many families make return visits, which people have found great for continuity in growing friendships in familiar surroundings.
