FAQ´s

When is Shepherd's Rest open ?

We open all year round.

Are all apartments the same ?

The 3 apartments at Shepherd's Rest are self contained. There are two 2 bedroom apartments, and one 3 bedroom. The outside space is shared, which includes a large roof terrace, courtyard and garden with firepit and outside dining spaces. There is a shared playroom that can be used by anyone staying at both Shepherd's Rest and Serendipia.

The 4 apartments at Cortijo Serendipia share 2 kitchens, but are otherwise self contained. There is also a communal lounge/diner. Serendipia is set within 10 acres of olive and almond groves, which we are continually working on to create many useful & creative outdoor areas (veg/herb garden, fruit trees). We are also making play spaces for different ages & abilities.

All apartments are different, but all provide comfortable family living in a similar sized space overall.

What is the price ?

Prices start from 895€ at Coritjo Serendipia

Prices start from 1045€ at Shepherd's Rest

We encourage families to stay for a minimum of a month, to become part of the community, which is difficult to do on a shorter stay.

Which airport should we fly to ?

Almeria: 1hr 15
Murcia Intl: 1hr 35

Granada: 1hr 45
Alicante: 2hr

There are Alsa buses and Exclusive Airport Shuttles.

We also offer airport pick up and drop off with our 7 seater car. Please ask for more information.

Is there WIFI at the property ?

There is high speed/fibre optic internet in all apartments, at both properties.

We have this installed for work purposes, as many of the people staying with us are working remotely. There is also a local private office space available for hire.

What is your setup ?

We have two traditional farmhouses.

Shepherd's Rest is our family home, set in Oria village and has 3 self contained apartments. There is a playroom, laundry and restaurant space. All amenities are walkable within 10 minutes.

Cortijo Serendipia is 5 minutes drive from Shepherd's Rest, set within 12 acres of olive & almond groves. A car is ideal when staying here, but there are rental options available locally.

Do I need a car ?

Having a car is ideal due to our rural location. Car hire is available at the airport or locally. There is very little public transport, but ALSA bus service does operate across Spain. Sometimes families will car share for food shopping trips.
